Ecosystem Architecture

NodeInNet shatters the boundaries between disjointed operating systems, bridging servers, desktops, laptops, and thin browsers into a single unified workspace. The platform forms a Zero-Trust Peer-to-Peer fabric.

The backend signaling server only negotiates initial authentications and SDP handshakes. Once authenticated, data never travels through centralized servers. Every session is tunneled across WebRTC channels shielded by DTLS encryption, forming native NAT-piercing interconnects driven by a blistering fast Rust-compiled engine.

Direct Filesystem & WebDAV

Remote WebDAV and full file browsing capabilities. Explore the native file system of any connected device transparently as if it were local.

File transfers occur completely peer-to-peer with zero size limits, leveraging dynamic WebRTC data buffers with built-in backpressure to ensure extreme throughput without dropped packets. The desktop GTK client even includes an embedded WebDAV server to physicslly mount remote network drives right into your OS Explorer, Finder, or Nautilus.

Zero-Trust SOCKS5 VPN

Spawn an isolated SOCKS5 proxy server directly on your local workstation (bound to 127.0.0.1:1080) that automatically routes all raw TCP internet streams through any target remote peer.

This allows you to securely wrap normal, unencrypted internet surfing traffic deep inside a DTLS-encrypted WebRTC session, effortlessly bypassing restrictive corporate firewalls or aggressive NATs without centralized logging or specialized VPN hardware setups.

Interactive Shell (PTY)

Raw PTY shell streaming over WebRTC channels bringing full native terminal functionality directly to your browser or desktop client.

Experience an authentic SSH-like session without ever opening inbound ports on your firewall. Full support for Bash, PowerShell, ANSI color escape sequences, keyboard tab-completions, and active terminal resizing is built implicitly into the protocol.

Task & Process Manager

Experience a powerful, cross-platform process manager functionally similar to htop, broadcasting active system processes alongside precise memory consumption and CPU utilization metrics in real-time.

Gain absolute control over remote system stability. You can instantly execute SIGKILL or graceful termination signals distantly against any runaway executable on Windows, Linux, or macOS targets via OS-native binding calls—without ever needing to open a terminal.

This module heavily synergizes with the OS Services Manager. If an isolated process is stubbornly regenerating itself or causing system exhaustion, you can seamlessly pivot to the related backend daemon and disable its overarching service permanently with a single click.

Telemetry & Camera

Visual node loop metrics transmitting continuous telemetry data including processor temperatures, active memory constraints, and network state directly to your dashboard.

Beyond hardware statistics, administrators can also request live screen captures and desktop thumbnails asynchronously, giving unprecedented visibility into remote physical hardware without triggering heavyweight Remote Desktop protocols.

Remote Desktop (P2P)

Experience low-latency, high-performance remote desktop screen sharing running completely peer-to-peer over secure zero-trust channels.

The video stream is encoded dynamically in real-time using openh264 and compressed into an H.264 video track. Because it runs directly over WebRTC, frames bypass intermediate cloud servers entirely, guaranteeing complete privacy and high-speed data flow.

Beyond simple viewing, administrators gain full interactive mouse and keyboard controls (including scrolls, click gestures, and coordinate translation), allowing you to safely diagnose and control your remote workstations from anywhere.

Universal Clipboard Sync

Experience a seamless universal clipboard across boundaries. Any text or URL copied into your clipboard on one machine is instantly synchronized and injected natively into the other end's OS buffer.

This enables a magical operational flow: highlight and press Cmd+C on your laptop, then instantly press Ctrl+V on your desktop server, completely protected over direct P2P vectors without involving third-party cloud clipboards.

Decentralized P2P Notes

A truly decentralized Markdown notebook. As you type, text modifications are blasted directly to all active nodes simultaneously and saved as physical markdown files locally to each filesystem.

The desktop application includes an intelligent diff-and-merge algorithm interface, empowering you to manually resolve synchronization conflicts if a note is edited simultaneously offline on two different devices before reconnecting.

OS Services Management

Cross-platform daemon administration bypassing the need for a noisy terminal. Interface naturally with background system modules natively.

Effortlessly start, stop, disable, or inspect background systemd services on Linux instances and Windows Services securely, right from an intuitive graphical pane bridging disjointed ecosystems.

Windows Registry Remote

Navigate the deepest configuration structures of remote Windows environments natively over the secured P2P framework.

Gain absolute remote control over Windows Registry branches, querying nested keys and applying remote manipulation to system configurations, seamlessly available even when you are administering a Windows target computer using a Linux or macOS Node client.

Power Management

Fundamental power routing controls exposed remotely. Take true command of the physical target hardware lifecycle beyond software management.

Send secure cryptographic triggers allowing immediate shutdown sequences, silent restarts, or forcing hardware environments into deep sleep modes securely across the peer-to-peer fabric.

Automated P2P Sync Folders

Keep your critical folders seamlessly synchronized across multiple distributed workstations. NodeInNet’s background Sync Engine calculates highly optimized file differentials over direct DTLS-encrypted peer connections.

Set persistent Global Policies to dictate exactly how conflicting versions are handled (e.g., automatically fetch missing files, or push localized modifications) without manual intervention. Need granularity? Override automated behaviors on a file-by-file basis via localized dropdown filters!

Mobile App Integration (Coming Soon)

Take the power of NodeInNet with you wherever you go. Our upcoming native implementations for iOS and Android will transform your smartphone into a fully integrated roaming node.

You will be able to securely access your servers using your mobile network, sync photos seamlessly into your own private cluster, and remotely terminate runaway processes, all while retaining the strict zero-trust WebRTC P2P philosophy.
